Benchmarking to BEPS Compliance: Utilizing Energy Star Portfolio Manager
Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) in Washington DC and Maryland require benchmarking through the EPA’s Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM). This presentation will outline the requirements and targets of the Capitol Region’s BEPS programs, arriving at a demonstration of steps and best practices utilizing ESPM to benchmark utility consumption and site greenhouse gas emissions for reporting to capitol region jurisdictions. The presentation will highlight the wealth of energy metrics resulting from ESPM benchmarking. Concluding thoughts will briefly present insights for healthcare engineers with non-compliant buildings and campuses.
